Privacy Policy

This describes what ITERUM collects, how it's stored, and how it's used — an honest, accurate account of what the app actually does with your data, not boilerplate. It isn't a substitute for reading our in-app Terms & Conditions, which cover the same ground alongside the rest of our terms of service.

What we collect

When you create an account, we collect your email address for sign-in. As you use the app, we store the workout data you generate — exercises, sets, reps, weights, timing, calculated Force/velocity and one-rep-max estimates, plans and schedules, body measurements you enter, and any journal notes or difficulty ratings you add. If you submit in-app feedback, we store the category and message you write, tied to your account. We also log basic app-usage events (like when you open the app and roughly how long you use it) to understand engagement — this is not tied to your workout content, just usage patterns.

Camera and photo access

ITERUM requests camera access to let you take a photo for your workout posts, and photo library access so you can attach an existing photo instead. Camera-based movement analysis (automatically counting reps, estimating load, or giving form feedback from video) is not available yet. If and when it becomes available, any such analysis would happen on your device — we would not upload, transmit, or store your camera video or images. Only the numeric data the analysis produces (reps, sets, timing, and similar) would be saved to your account.

Where your data is stored

Your account details (like your email address) are always stored on our servers so you can sign in. On the free tier, your other data — workout history, plans, measurements, and the like — is stored locally on your device only, and isn't uploaded to us. Once you subscribe, that data syncs to a secure, hosted cloud database (Supabase), so it's backed up and available across your devices. For cloud-synced data, access is restricted so that, in the ordinary course, only you can read or write your own data — the ITERUM team can access records only for support, debugging, or the aggregate/admin views described below (e.g. invite code management, feedback review, anonymized usage analytics).

Payments

Subscription payments are processed by Apple (via the App Store and RevenueCat) on iOS, and by Stripe on the web. We do not receive or store your full card number — Apple and Stripe handle that directly.

How we use your data

We use your data to run the app for you (showing your history, calculating progress, syncing across sessions once you're subscribed) and to improve ITERUM — for example, reviewing feedback you submit or looking at aggregate usage trends. We do not sell your data, do not run ads in the app, and do not share your data with third parties for advertising. Because we're paid directly by subscribers rather than by advertisers or data buyers, we have no business incentive to sell your data.

Trainers, coaching, and the trainer marketplace

ITERUM lets you link your account with a trainer, or a trainer link with you as their athlete, using a pairing code you choose to share, or by discovering and requesting a trainer through the in-app trainer leaderboard/marketplace. Linking is opt-in on both sides and replaces any previous link, one trainer at a time. Once linked, your trainer can see your workout history (exercises, sets, reps, weights, timing, and calculated Force/velocity data), set or edit your day-to-day workout plan, and leave notes on your sessions. You can unlink at any time from Account Settings, which immediately ends your trainer's access to this data. ITERUM does not vet, certify, or validate trainers. Any arrangement between you and a trainer, including payment for their services, happens directly between the two of you, outside the app.

Leaderboards and rankings

ITERUM includes global, friends, and trainer-marketplace leaderboards that display rankings based on your workout metrics. What's visible on a leaderboard (such as your display name and ranked metric) can be seen by other users of that leaderboard. You control what name/handle is shown.

Your controls

You can permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time from Settings → Delete Account. This removes your data from our systems — it isn't a soft delete or deactivation.

Children's privacy

ITERUM is not directed at children, and you must be at least 18 years old to create an account. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.
